Effects of Global Warming

There are many effects of Global Warming. Many of them are not visible during daily life but there are a few that are ever present.

Here in South Florida, we are subject to many extreme weather conditions, namely hurricanes. One of the effects of global warming is more extreme weather. Hurricanes are fuled by evaporating warm sea water as well as dry dessert air off the African coast. The warmer air is able to hold more moisture so the clouds will become more powerful.

As global warming is effecting the earth more and more the world's oceans are warming. This is a very detrimental cycle becuase one of the most important ecosystems is the ocean. Much of the worlds oxygen is produced by sea plants which feed animals that are responsible for a very large food source across the world. As the water warms up the ecostystem dies becuase it is very sensitive. The coral is unable to spawn and reproduce and since it is so susseptible to temperature it will not be able to grow at all. The dying coral is one of the effects, but once the coral dies many of the organisms living on it die, and essentially the entire oceanic ecosystem dies. No oxygen...... or food.

Some of the northern regions such as England may become eve colder because the disruption of the gulf stream, which is powered by thermal convection. The warm water that keeps England relatively warm considering its latitude will no longer reach England warming it.

Another thing that is going to continually effect the globe is the rising average sea level. Historically cities and towns have been built on the coast because of their easy access to outside sources through ports and the readily available supply of sea food. These places have boomed in population and the people in these areas will gradually be pushed inland by the rising sea level.
